Lovely work you've done there, high five! (not that I deserve one XD)
Thank you for the suggestions! I will definitely rework this piece and upload once the voting closes :D
I think the key is to not be a slave of the palette, I use it mostly to have a base to work on, but if you ever need a color that it's not there, there's no problem to create new ones (or to mix the ones that are already there).
In this piece in particular, I think that some darker shades are missing, specially on the body. You could add some details like the even darker folds in the shirt, and/or to make the instrument cast an even darker shadow when it meets the legs.
I had a few minutes after lunch to do some quick changes, I tried to give the face a more charicature feel, and tried to make the clusters a little more bold. Hopefully it reads a little bit more like your style?
I really enjoyed working with your palette, definitely different than what I had been doing so a great way for me to learn. I was having a hard time with the highlights on the guqin, but once I used the green/gold colors, leaving the blues for the shirt, it all started to come together.
It's always great to see someone else putting your palette in use!
I wonder your thoughts on it.
Thanks :D and sure you do! *fist bump!
