I'm not really bothered by the unusual shape/perspective of the helmet. Celtic art, Gothic art, Ancient arts, and even some types of modern art show a deliberate skew of things like perspective and shape. If the colours of something can be played around with, why not their shape? Great piece.
hey gas! Didn't know you were lurking here still. Anyways: Probably right about the contrast. If I wanted to make it look really shiny then yeah. In all honesty I just played around with the colors and didn't really pushed this one (hence the rather off shapes). Now I hope to find the time to finish my current piece (but I'll check the contrast out on this one as soon as I'm back pixelpushing)
Always love the way you choose your colors, Niss. Not sure what to say regarding the whole work. Since it's metal it would be nice to see some more contrast between highlights and dark colors.
Yeah, the colors and shading is great, but I'm afraid the lineart is not accurate as it could be. Something bothers me about the face, maybe it's the fact that we should see the other part of the helmet aside his face, but we actually can't.
