I like the subtle grass and stony textures on the bottom and the hut. You're really good with textures
Imo the sprites turned out a bit boring in comparison and look a bit out of place. Not the pixelling itself but the way they stand in the scene and to each other looks bit like they do a staring contest instead of a bossfight (which is what I guess it should convey from your description, if not just ignore this).
And with ~6 bil. colors you could have made a few things "pop" more
Also to me the hut and sprites look like viewed from different angles but I'm not so sure about that (which also isn't that unusual in 2d games, just pointing it out).
