Very cute gothic girls. Hard to pick a favorite, but Duchess of Decan.
-I would disagree on Phantom of past is best sprite, expressionwise she definely is, but I don't like the rather undetailed dark ruffles on her skirt, but it is really my personal pet peeve.
Somehow I managed to miss these before. There are wonderful! The Phantom of Past is my favourite of these, a great design and a great pose.
Weird nitpick time: "Phantom of Past" is not alliterative, since the "ph" in "phantom" is an "f" sound. Similar problem with "Chieftess of Chevaliers", the "ch" in "chevaliers" is an "sh" sound. English spelling makes alliteration harder than it should be, since the letters don't have a straightforward correspondence to the sounds.
These are amazing! Love the designs; hard to pick a favourite :D

hmm interesting, I felt like i overused the black&white contrasting.
THe white background actually is meant to get kind of a woodcut feeling across, or that they look like painted with ink on pergament and feature more or less a simple, more medieval drawing style.
Nonetheless I agree its the sprite which features the most realism, as I started I tried to work really simple (Heroine, Gothic Girl) and I loosened up a lot more in the process at the end (Princess, Phantom)
Also if you look at the groundline of the phantom, it's one of 2 sprites sprite which is not drawn on a flat line.
But t hanks for the comment =)
@andylittle:
thanks for commenting, glad you liked em.
Not so much. I think it's the strongest sprite regardless though, has the best depth and the medium-tone background works well.
@Curth
GHlad you found your fave.
Yeah gothic and medieval stuff leaves you a lot of space to be creative and I am just totally in love with the overall style, trinkets and architecture. Also many things I love, especially out of the medieval period have a strong foundation in the style.
@Lijj:
Yeah creya again, acctually on eo fthe first sprites I created, to test out the style. COmpared to the last ones, like the princess or the phantom I made quite some interesting observations with what I could do.
But great you recognized her =)
@cure:
ah cool, guess you aren't the biggest fan of the more anime-like faces then?
My vote is for Princess of Purgatory as my favourite! Love how most of them are so distinct from each other even though they were inspired by that gothic theme.
aww a gothic girl.. Creya again; that's very cute rendition actually
Wow, great work, what a fun gaggle of gothic girls! Very fond of the font as well. :)
I just fell in love with every one of the girls there!
