Aaaaaaand here's part 2.

Route 1, north of Pallet Town that is. Leading to Viridian City (which is #3).

Yeah, that's all.

Bushes, trees and flowers are not made by me but are more like rips with a little editing by me. That would make about 90% of the picture ist made by me.

Credits to Nintendo, GameFreak and the Pokémon Company.

EDIT: I don't know who checked this picture "ripped" but it's definetely not funny. Most of the picture is completely done by me. Just because 3 or 4 sprites are not made by me (in this case, read: ripped) it's definetely not a reason to say this picture is ripped.
Thanks for listening.

stop whining like a little bitch.  if you had read the fucking rules ON the submit page, we wouldnt have this problem.  i swear to god, you morons annoy the hell out of me.  so, let us review rule #1 that is displayed right on the submission page...

1.  Only submit your own work.

now, let's go over this again, in case you didnt get that...

1.  Only submit your own work.

there is a difference between using sprites that you didn't make, and making something based off of it.  so do everyone here a favor.  get the fucking sand out of your fucking ass, stop bitching because you didn't honor the rules and took awhile to get caught, or fucking leave.

by the way, im glad you stuck by what you said: "I wouldn't have any problem with it. If some admin or staff member or whatever really has a problem with it, I'd cooperate and, as said, remove the pictures from my gallery."  THAT is why i am so fucking pissed, you say you would cooperate, instead you throw a fit like a fucking 5 year old.

Well, nobody cared for almost a year and now all of a sudden this particular image gets removed and slated as "ripped"...okay, but if you remove this you also have to remove this, this and this since I used the same sprites in those pictures too.

Oh, and if you're at it, why don't you remove this, this, this, this, this and this? The scenes COULD just be set together with original tiles, scaled up, moved etc. Although they're not.
Where's the big difference between "making a big isometric scene out of original sprites remade in big and isometric style" and "making an isometric scene out of original sprites from which the most are remade in isometric style"?
I wouldn't say there is any. But I wouldn't say either that there is a difference that huge that the second one should slated as "ripped" whilst the other may remain as it is.

if you didnt make it, it doesnt belong in the gallery.  period.  remove the items you did not make, and i will approve this.

Oh, that's what you mean.
Yeah, you're right (I'm not going to decline that the trees, bushes and flowers are the original ones from the games).
BUT everytihng else was being made by hand. So that would be like 99% selfmade.
I would remove the pokemon-pictures if everyone else sees these as "ripped" because of these 3 little thingies.
I wouldn't have any problem with it. If some admin or staff member or whatever really has a problem with it, I'd cooperate and, as said, remove the pictures from my gallery.
Reason I took the original trees and stuff is, that these were the only things I wasn't able to do myself...So I gues, you have a point with "learning nothing out of it".

Well, I think the staff should decide whether to slate the pictures as ripped or not. Because to a very high degree it's still my work.

Well, I think you get what I mean.

The trees do look mighty similar to me, and the trees were what I liked.

V-king if you copy the trees and grass from the screenshot I linked to, they fit exactly over your trees and grass and flowers. You learn nothing by doing this and if you really want to get anywhere close to as good as Pokemon, you gotta make these things yourself. An inspired piece has to be different from the original.

I honestly don't understand what's going on here. I've checked out Pokemon Fire Red on a bunch of different game sites. I've double checked via emulator. What kind of bizarro world is this where no one recognises the graphics from a pokemon game? Has Pokemon already become obsolete and purged from the societal memory?

@crab2selout:
I can't quite recall the problem you have.
I mean, the stuff is not ripped, it's only inspired by Pokémon but made by myself.

And I personally learned much stuff when I was making this.
I learned how to make isometric tiles, I learned what to look out for when making isometric pictures, I learned how to make different in heights and many other stuff.

If you don't like the picture that's okay, it's your opinion. But please don't try to make it look bad for others too. I don't see me doing that with your art.

So your not happy that he wasn't as good as you are... Isn't that a bit low?????

user
crab2selout.png (Level 4 Deputy) @ 5/11/2006 16:13

Exactly, taking different styles and adapting. Not taking another style and then skewing the road.

http://www.angelfire.com/anime6/romz/screenshots/index.album?i=0&s=1

You learn nothing by skewing tiles.

MFchris (Level 1 Depressed) @ 5/11/2006 14:58

Oh C'mon Crab! Pixel art to me is all about taking different styles, and adapting them to your own personal likes. If V-king wants to make a pokemon pixel art in isometric style, let him. It isn't perfect, but at leat he can learn!

well, i just ditto jalonso

MFChris, pokemon doesn't need to take note because pokemon made all the tiles.

Honestly, I really don't like the iso. Part of what makes the pokemon style is because the lines and patterns are designed around the slight overhead view so that it can look very smooth without needing very much AA

MFchris (Level 1 Depressed) @ 5/7/2006 09:55

I love it... If only pokemon were her to take note! lol

5*

Shark (Level 1 Jukyu) @ 5/4/2006 09:35
WTf are you on hishnak. this isnt ripped he is giving credit because he didnt invent pokemon or the overall layout. He is recreating pokemon in iso and i must say doing a very good job :D

user
Hishnak (Level 1 Rookie) @ 5/4/2006 09:11
Uhhh...it just looks ripped...I don't think I'd call this your pixel art even if you are giving credit to pokemon.
