I'm not sure about reptiles but birds have a very in and out system where if they don't use the energy they consume it's jus expelled. which I guess is why they're always whacking their heads against the floor.

Pretty sweet! It actually makes me wonder.. can reptiles even gain weight, like birds you never actually see fat ones haha. Snakes gorge themselves too but never seem to get fat.. I could be wrong though.
