The master is back! The grass and metals textures are so nice.
Such a lovely animation, man! And I really like how you paint this earth tile.
Apologies. I admit that i might have used some unnecessary words in there, i was trying to give a tad too overly detailed criticism and i don't normally do that. There were less meaner ways to say that i didn't like the animation and i went overboard.
@ZenZerd:
Either one likes the animation style of or not. If not that's ok and yes it's faithful to the movements of the game.
What's not ok here for me on a purely personality level is the way how you wrote that comment, because saying that something is not to ones taste is OK. Just using 7 expressions of negativity in merely 2.5 lines is constructed an awful lot lot like an passive attack with the cherry at the end to make it look OK.
Of course you can say whatever you like, but by that way of using language you come just off like someone nobody wants to be around.
@SNV:
i just did one animation as a personal challenge.
if I ever get around doing another one I will have an animated enemy as well.
@Eyshia:
Don't feel bad, there seems to be an amazing lot of folks who just simply enjoy grass.
Excellent pixelling and animation.
Must have taken a lot of long hours to pull this off.
I'll be honest, not a fan of the animation. All that posing and theatrics for a less than stellar stab that has no oomph, followed by the twirl back to position, just looks silly. The screen shake can only help the impact of the boring-looking stab so much. Keep in mind that i don't play Fire Emblem, so i don't know if this animation is faithful to the games.
On the other hand, the terrain looks great!
Cool! But it would look more impressive if character hits actual foe, instead of thin air. But guess that is some Fire Emblem thingie, where they had no memory or colors to display more than one sprite on screen.
I can't even imagine how much work it must've been to animate something this high-detail at that framerate! I also feel bad that my favourite part is the ground rather than the animation, the textures are fantastic!
The way the character's feet slide around relative to the ground during the camera shake makes them feel disconnected, and I feel it reduces the intended impact.
Powerful jab for someone striking air. How many pushups did that dude do? Either way, I am loving your work.
