Looks great! I can definitely see the sprite influences from prior fighting games, like Garou(the kicks from Kim Dong Hwan, punches from Rock Howard, and even a bit of Akuma/Ryu). If anything, I think the upper body has odd changes of mass during some of these moves. When he does the kicks, his chest/upper body get small, but when he's walking, his upper body becomes a bit more bulkier than his idle or other poses would otherwise indicate.
Either way, looks cool as a whole, and I'm sure no one would sweat the small details.
You worked on 198x? The whole game looks gorgeous, I planned on buying it soon. Really gorgeous 16-bit style pixel art.
This super cool, it also reminds me of a character you would see in King of Fighters.

You're damn right, I was aiming at giving depth by angling the torso back, but it's not working as I though. The dev was a little hard on this game as the team had to struggle between multiple engines, so I did not had a proper build to test out my animation blending. As the character is supposed to be quite gender neutral I clearly see many little mistakes that push the design both way.
