First of a series of 4 color cycling animations.
64 colors in the gif but almost all 256 indexes were used on color cycling ramps for animation.
Awesome. Thanks for the info. And keep up the great work! You've definitely mastered this style and technique.
I use ProMotion from Cosmigo.
It allows use of multiple palettes (per frame, per layer), but I always use just one for each file.
Difficulty depends on what effect you are trying to pull off.
The base for the belts is just to repeat a basic pattern with different colors... then cycle them and see what happens.
Some other effects can be a real headache...
Wow, that's really awesome. Curious, what software do you use? I mostly use Aseprite for pixel related work. It's technically possible to do color cycling in Aseprite, but as far as I'm aware, it's not really an easy thing to do, as only one palette can be loaded per file.
Do you use a specific software to do color cycles like this?
Yes, the gear teeth are done with color cycling. That's why the two don't actually touch. The border is a series of curved ramps.
Wow. Are the gear teeth animated using color cycles too? This is fantastic.
The reflections got me too, amazing!
This is insane!! I am speechless
I love the chain's reflection on the bottom of the ball thingy.
Very interesting lighting effects on the big gears.
