Did this several months back.  It's the run animation for one of the two playable characters in a game I have been long developing for the Amstrad CPC computers (8 bit machines from 22 years ago).  The game uses the Mode 1 resolution of 320x200 and 4 colors at once (though it is capable of 'splitting' the screen and having a different palette in that screen... so the main area has 4 colors and the status panel can have 4 different colors).  The black will remain constant and the two shades of color will change in each room dependant on the surroundings (for example if the room is mostly grass and trees then a couple of greens and a brown may be used and all the sprites recolor to that).  This game will be made available for real Amstrads as well as emulators.  Just fulfilling a childhood ambition of mine.  The game may also be ported to other 8 bits such as the Spectrum and possibly the C64 but I'll let other people take care of that if they want.

NOTE:  This version of it is doubled up as I use it as an avatar in some places.  The real size fits within 32x32

He reminds me of Simon Belmont somehow. I like it.

I like this character for some odd reason. Brisk is definitely the word. As the hair on impact to the floor show allot of bounce for a character of this size. And I'm sure you fixed this up a bit more since then.

Wow, when I saw the smaller version of this, I was so amazed!

Nope not yet.  Long way off, since I have more important projects to get done first.

Hey...did you ever get to finish this?

I still have my Amstrad computer and sometimes take it out once in awhile to play "Target Renegade". Mine is a CPC 464 but it has a 64k memory expansion making it a whopping 128k!(aahhhh...the joys of playing Shinobi with music).

Wolverine: Please notify us when this game is done! A new Amstrad game!!! I can't wait!!! Hadn't had a new one in years.....

I know you say the Amstrad is a 8-bit compluter, but this is TRUE 8-Bittage.

nice but yeah i agree , its much more like a strong walk. but i really like how you made it, and the color limitation makes it even better

Yeah it's not so much a run as a real determined sorta strong walk.  A full on run would have been too fast for the game.

I love this. It's looks so retro, the colours and stlye is spot on.

Hmmm, seems like a brisk walk rather than a run. I like the character design a lot.

By the way the actual size it will appear on screen is the same as this double sprite's size in a 640x480 resolution.

Does that not work there?  Sorry I don't even use the zoom buttons here.  I use the ImageZoom extension for Firefox to zoom in and out of any image as much as I like.

I cant zoom out...? I dont think its possible to unzoom on pixeljoint.

True size?  Just zoom out once...

And ambient colors?  Not sure what you mean by that.  The colors it's using now are one of the rooms colors (4 picked from the 27 color CPC palette).  If I was to show every possible color combination of the rooms there would be at least around 30 different versions of this sprite.   I have this color scheme here as it's one of my favorites and find it visually striking.

I'd like to see it in its true size with the ambient colors as you've suggested.
