Made using Endesga 32
This all started with me toying around with palettes on lospec, when I for some reason got the idea to remake the heroes from Heroes II as classic Final Fantasy battle sprites. The project then expanded vastly in scope, and then shrunk back down a bit when I realised I can not make 16x16 tilesets good and interesting enough to upload.
The pallet was nice to work with, but once the main sprites were done it was a challenge to make backgrounds that didn't compete with them. In an earlier version, the grass had an adittional highlight color, but it looked way to bussy when I added the character sprites on so I had to remove it.

Thank you! Nice to see someone else remember this game. And yeah I absolutely wanted to make the UI more ornate, but at the tiny size I worked at nothing I tried worked.
