Hi, guy who makes pixel art. (Apt name!) No rules broken here - it's a nice lil Ridley.
One thing I would say to watch out for in future pieces is that the limbs on Ridley are overlapping here in a way that makes it a little hard to figure out which body part is what - especially on the legs, and especially especially on a medium-dark grey (like the default PJ background). If you look at the picture of Ridley you used as reference, for instance, you'll note that his limbs are all really spaced out, with only the wing and claw on our left overlapping:
Whereas on your piece, those limbs are all kind of bunched together, with the arms on top of the wings and the legs on top of each other.
