i ran accross Helm's "The Spartan" piece again, so i thought i would expierement using RGB... however, i wanted to be able to use it for a forum sig elsewhere, so i used a black outline and transparency, so i guess it is more of RGBb+T.

Some green/blue dithering wolud help muchly on the depth of the ribbons. Also, consider some AA-dithering (or dither-aaing? I mean AAing that is dither-based) -- it is useful in such spartan restraints. on the ribbon mainly too.
This pic also qualifies as an Amstrad CPC pic -- it has 4 colors, all of which are in the Amstrad CPC palette.
Why do you have that green/red dithering patch on the S? it looks out of order. Oh i see, it leads into the green ribbon. then you'll probably need to twist it more to make that fully evident. Finally, you might have gotten a more subtle effect if the pic was backlit rather than it's current front lighting.
