I see what you mean! That one was done a long time ago, but I think the reason for the head shape was because I was using a tarot deck as reference/inspiration from which I took the Devil's design. The compositions are all my own but there are a few elements here and there from popular decks. It might be worthwhile trying a few different head designs to see what works best, if I ever get back to this project!
These are cool. I'm not a huge fan of the bull headed devil though. It reads as a Minotaur to me. I'd change it to the traditional goat's head personally.
I'm a big fan of the designs and great conservation of detail. =)
