I'm working on a game with a tonne of playable characters (think roguelike, except it isn't a roguelike :) ). These are some of the potential gender/class sprites.

At this scale, race would be a palette swap. 16 colors based significantly on the EGA palette, yellow swapped for peach, and then adjusted for a warm ambient light with cool source light.

Though I would like to learn to animate someday, for now I'm wiggling their feet and shearing their bodies, in engine, to achieve a baseline of non-staticness. 

The female Butcher is my favorite. Tell me what you think :).

PJ has a bunch of different themes, so it's not mid-grey for everyone (although it is mid-grey for me, and is way more legible now!). And if the image has a transparent background, people can easily view the image in its own tab to see it on a different background.

Done. Not that it matters, but I had thought the earthy palette would clash against the gray background, and they'll never actually be displayed on gray....

Would you mind uploading this with a transparent background? The dark green doesn't make the sprites look better, and in fact makes it really hard to see parts of them.
