This is my avatar (it's a weirdly shaped N if you didn't notice, as my name starts with an N), and I designed it pure black and white because I'm not that great at choosing good colors right now... but I can dither pretty good! Weird thing I noticed, the way the corners are done it looks to me that there's some illusion going on making the image's edges look sorta rounded, even though it can't be. I'll probably continue to do pure black and white images in the future, because I just like using just the two colors alone. If you notice any pretty major things I should change, please tell me, I'm new at this and am still learning a good dithering technique I can use across most of my works.
Did this in GIMP on my Linux machine, because Windows GIMP will never compare, and I can't stand Windows since I've switched to Linux. And yes, GIMP is great for pixelling, as long as you don't use the paint brush and other advanced tools that ruin your work. |
