Very possible! If you're using layers with effects like multiply or overlay it can cause colors to just get wild. I don't think using layers are an issue but once you start using them to "make" the colors for you like that it ends up getting a little messy in color count.
I did realize it was a lot, though I thought some detail and dimension in the shine and shadow would be lost without the extra, though subtle, colors.
I'll try going over it again to see if I can get the same effect with perhaps just 4 of each hue aside from black. I think most of the extras are coming from the edges where the light changes are most notable.
Dr. Pepper is my go-to, the diet/zero is the best of all sodas imo, as a diabetic lol

it's pretty neat, but 35 colors for a can this size is a lot, i do like it tho but there could be a lot of reduction work on this piece
