I was indeed aiming for a sort of fucked up rifle, hence the title is a bit of a pun!
@SeDiceBisonte: Thank you so much for your kind words! That sort of is the deal that. I've made with myself, to always allow myself to have fun (!) with the details and rendering but never to the detriment of the underlying image. Especially in the age of Ai. I do take some pride in getting very intricate and stylized without losing that cohesion. So thank you for noting that!

you see themes continued from "Secret Santa 2022" (the astronaut guys), but also textures from "Ichor Golem" and "I Kung Bores Frusna Salar", revisited to suggest volcanized rock or metal. It's severe in this mysterious, intriguing way. Could the characters be in hell? On a hostile planet? Are the segmented staff things weapons?
The way you've developed a style that is both impressionistic but also so highly controlled is extremely impressive. As ever, the textures and lighting are impeccable. Awesome piece!
