I love the atmosphere in this one, and how distinct and expressive the characters are with such little details.
Just for the sake of nitpicking, however, I have to say that the continuation of the tombstone lighter shade over the upper wolf's nose, makes it look like the tombstone's shape it's missing a chunk on top at first glance, so I had to look more in detail to confirm it was actually a tombstone.
I think letting the wolf merge with it's shape, or at least, reducing the outline width by one pixel on the wolf nose could've aided more with the immediate dfferentiation of both shapes.
Everything else is great to my eyes; I faved this for a reason.
Thank ya so much once again! Very happy that folks seem to be liking this style. Was for sure going for a surreal horror-like feel here, so glad to hear I achieved that as well :)
Thanks! This one has ended up being my favorite of the bunch I drew :)
Wonderful folk horror vibes this week. It's pretty redundant for me to say how amazing the style is again but... it still is so I will! I love how creative this is with the woodland animal portal. The bright outlines really add to the surreal, dreamlike horror atmosphere.
Nice hi-res preview of the wolf too.
If I'm correctly understanding what you're saying, the "tombstone" here is supposed to be like an entrance or doorway flanked by the mass of creatures haha -- guess I wasn't able to convey that as well as I'd hoped. You're right that the outline around that wolf's nose probably does not help make things any more clear. I definitely get carried away with the outlines sometimes in my drawings, so I really appreciate the critique :) Thank you!
