I've been meaning to post this and finally got around to it. My sister is doing a short film for a college / university course and she wanted an old school pixel art logo for it. This was directly inspired from the "It Came From the Desert" video game's logo by Cinemaware back in 1989. I'm not sure if she'll make the video publicly available or not, but at least this is for now. All I know is that it's about a brine shrimp who latches onto its host and causes terror. Doesn't seem far off from the ginormous ants of the old B-movies. Haha!
The art was originally sketched on paper, scanned into my computer, colored in Photoshop, posterized to 16 colors, and then finally brought into Aseprite where I chose a final palette and cleaned everything up. Funnily, the palette I chose was Lospec 500, even though it has many more colors. Still a very fun piece to work on and it feels great after being on a hiatus for months. |
