HE WON'T STAY DEAD!

I love Pixelween (and Halloween and horror films) and have wanted to make a news icon for it for ages. For whatever reason, I missed the first HAPPY NEWS YEAR challenge and I didn't have time to do an icon for the New Year's Cleanup challenge, so I was pretty happy about this week's challenge.

I had a few ideas for things I wanted to try but this seemed the most different to what I've already seen on the site.

Drawn using DawnBringer's DawnBringer 32 palette for the 12th January 2026 HAPPY NEWS YEAR 2 weekly challenge.

With thanks to Trigonomicon for the helpful advice on getting the PJ Nerd engraving to look better.

Thanks Drako! It was my first time using DawnBringer 32 and I was impressed by its versatility. Worked well for the lurid horror look I wanted.

I was actually considering expanding this because I was pleased with how it turned out. Not sure I could sustain what I've got going here for an entire scene but it could be a fun project for Halloween.
