I have been reading Melville's Moby Dick recently, this is such a great reading so far (not quite done with it yet) and I am a big fan of Gerard DuBois' Moby Dick Art (direct image link) depicting Captain Achab facing the eye of Moby Dick in a simple, minimalist yet really striking composition. It makes the viewer feels very tiny and this an uneasy feeling that I yearn to create. You can say this is a direct node to DuBois' art.
Made in roughly ~4 hours. Could probably be revisited in the future since I kinda rushed it to complete it on NG's Pixel Day which was a 1-day event.

Very cool. Moby Dick is my favourite book and, although it's a classic, I kind of feel it's underrated. I think people expect it to be quite dry and boring, but I found it very vibrant, funny and full of life.
You've definitely captured the sense of unease. The texturing on the whale is very nice and the scar on its eye is a neat touch.
