A colombian myth. It is said that an old grandma cared too much for heir grand kids so she was punished for it (?) and then she became a ball of fire so she goes into the dark country roads scaring bad people.
It does makes no sense to me. But it is said by some drunk people through the years that sometimes a ball of fire has been seen on the dark country roads...
Yeah, I feel some of the folklore from this country is like advice from the catholic moral that goes deep into society to the people: do not be bad or dont do bad deeds. So sometimes is dont abuse the alcohol or something bad may happen to you. Sometimes is dont go alone, as a woman, to empty locations or someone will hurt you, or sometimes is dont hurt others or you will suffer.
In this case the original story is quite light and it hasnt grow as much as it could. But what is more important is the effect, the fire in the middle of the night that scares lonely people that should not be out so late at night.
That really is a weird story. Your rendition of it is great, though. Really sinister and unusual. Very nice use of the palette on the skeleton. Those bones look gnarly!
