i managed to get another done! and it didn't take me months either. maybe i can get back into the swing of drawing regularly.

anyway i'm happy with a lot of stuff about this, like how the rock came out, her expression, her hair, and so on. i'm a lot less happy with her left (our right) breast (the general shape is off), and to a lesser extent the strap holding up the right (our left) part of her dress.

still, overall i'm happy with it. i even did light AA on a few parts without bloating the color count to infinity. well, maybe it's not really AA, but it's similar.

actually, on the subject of color count, i almost made her hair grey (because i was worried the red/green thing would be too christmassy) and that would have brought the color count down even smaller (it's 16, which is about normal for my pieces). it'd be kind of surprising to have a lower color count on a piece with a prop (or whatever you'd call the rock) than with pieces that are just characters doing their own thing on their own. that said, i think her red hair is nice and striking, which is more important to me than something purely technical that nobody will care about like color count.
