it should come as no surprise that this uses https://lospec.com/palette-list/tiger24 since my main goal in life right now is making sure that, should it be chosen for anything, it won't have weird oopsies or disappoint people.
well, this is my third art with this palette and I'm now fully convinced that it doesn't suck...hopefully one day I can see what the masters are able to do with it
as for the art itself...well this one and the two previous ones using this palette are really about exploring emotive content and in that sense are all largely children of hand... the raw feedback that I've gotten on these doesn't indicate that the intended emotions are actually transmitting but hopefully my intentions of making my art more emotional is at least making them "better", whatever that means.
Probably the worst part of making new art that taps deeper is looking back at everything else and feeling it all to be dead, a legacy of...nothing. I suppose that feeling never goes away and, if it did, wouldn't that be even worse?
About this technique... maybe I'll have more to say some other time. For now I'll say that, in my head, I call it "feathering" and consider it to be mostly about negative space and light and feelings and absolutely not about texture. |
It looks really good! The body indeed feels realistic, the palette is indeed very nice!
