I often feel like more saturated palettes are less flexible as it's harder to combine colors with each other as the contrast goes up, but this one allowed for some flexibility, so I enjoyed working with it.
The animals depicted vary a bit in accuracy and specificity, with some being specific species and other being vague gestures at an entire class of animals. In one sense of the word, the realest one of them all is the worried-looking bird in the top right corner.
