happy pride month everybody
this one took way longer than i expected. it's really tough to draw two characters interacting, especially when they have complicated hair coloring; i would have liked to make the girl on the right have more blue in her hair (like in the front and not just the back), but i couldn't get the highlights to look right. thankfully after a billion hours i got the other girl's hair looking nice.
overall i'm really happy with this (at least at the moment, lol). i'm a lot less happy that this is my first drawing in a few months (i really was hoping to get a scylla girl out for mermay but drawing octopus legs is really hard, and i put off starting it until the very last minute)
it was pretty tough to quiet the part of my brain that worries about using too many colors, but i think the concept for this one necessitated a lot of colors. that said, i was initially going to make the girl on the left have a lesbian-pride flag bikini, but i switched it to a bisexual-pride flag when i realized i already was using most of those colors. kind of a cringe reason. (also, it's pretty likely i could have used fewer than i did, but like, whatever lol) |
Thank you! I work from references, usually 3D pose software. And yes, I try the poses for hands myself sometimes. I'm actually not super happy with the hands in this one, but what are you gonna do.
