Nice series. Shading is iffy though.

you cant expect every comment you get to be helpful or polite, and that doesn't just apply to this site.  every site has the people who leave short, un-detailed comments.  as you improve, you will receive a significant amount of these, however, no matter the skill level, there will always be those leeches out there who's only mission in life is to bring down others through insulting their work.

this applies even more for this site.  the gallery is a place for the final judging and critisim of your pixel art pieces, so you should expect some harshness.  if you want more helpful comments on how to improve your art, use the forum, that is one of the main reasons we have it here.  that is where you go if your looking for tips on how to improve.

giving up due to the comments from others is, sorry to be blunt, a poor and ignorant choice.  no one improved by quitting after a few days, week, or months of trying.  some people catch on to pixel techniques after a month or two, some it takes atleast a year.  and everyone has to go through the motions, including bad comments, harsh critisism, etc...

Don't give up on pixel art! You don't have to be an expert to enjoy pixelling. On the contrary, isn't all the fun in seeing how much you progress over time? :) Anyway, I think this chess piece looks very solid, and I like the way you combined the colours. I would suggest adding a bit more contrast, and to make the hair a lot darker. Keep it up, and don't let the unhelpful comments bother you :)

Yea, sure i think you're better than me, but, you know, i had hear many many C&C's and i know what is ok, and what is bad but suddenly i can't use these C&C on myn works
