My entry for round 2 for pixelator, I'm really not confident in iso, this is my second iso and having to make it in tiles really made it hard for me.

Those stones in the water is suppose to be an ancient statue hand buried in the ground of some once powerful civilization, with some alien longish creature finding it an appropriate resting place.

Great muddy, swampy palette, and a nice idea too.

This is wonderful.

user
Loff (Level 1 Rookie) @ 11/6/2008 14:07
Amazing. How is it that you are so good at everything involving a pixel?

user
Antago (Level 1 Rookie) @ 4/21/2008 10:28
it'[s very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

user
BunnyMilk (Level 1 Intern) @ 11/14/2007 04:46

I love it! Really neat and stylish!

user
buloght (Level 6 Centaur) @ 3/4/2007 10:49
Thanks for the comments people :)

spiv: We were given the colors, it was part of the challenge. We were allowed to exchange 4 of our own from the sixteen given. I exchanged 3.

user
spiv (Level 4 Button Man) @ 3/4/2007 10:17

it's interesting - nice tiles , but i don't like used colors.

user
Loop (Level 3 Hatchikyu) @ 3/3/2007 12:30
Wow, great work.
I like those fingers coming out from the water. I remember tere is something like this in a beach somewhere in south americ, but they're coming out from the sand.

user
buloght (Level 6 Centaur) @ 3/3/2007 10:29
Thanks guys

user
Markell (Level 1 Gangster) @ 3/3/2007 09:33

Brilliant work buloght, the submerged statue looks like a hand, which is good. I also like the colour scheme whichs gives the pice a 'lost world' kinda feel.

user
AndyOaks (Level 1 Rookie) @ 3/2/2007 01:04
Wow! Technically and artistically brilliant

user
Doppleganger (Level 6 Yonkyu) @ 3/1/2007 18:07
Haha, no worries. You've yet to compete against anyone even. I think that the amount of effort you put into the contest entries is admirable considering your lack of opponents. Hopefully  you win the next one not by default.

Thanks for the compliment btw.

user
verfum (Level 4 Deputy) @ 3/1/2007 14:07

This is utterly fantastic! I really love the style and fantastical waterful. It's all good!

user
buloght (Level 6 Centaur) @ 3/1/2007 12:09
Ah, thanks for explaning, I truelly love your isometric work and it is a great source of inspiration. I understand what you mean about the tiling, my motivation for this piece I wanted to make a unique scene as opposed to mockup and make every tile unique which might have been a little wrong I realize now :)

user
Doppleganger (Level 6 Yonkyu) @ 3/1/2007 11:41
By tiling, I mean, each tile of yours is unique. Reusing the same tile multiple times so it seems/tiles together is what I meant by tiling. A good example would be grass you see in an rpg. It's only one tile but it fills a large expanse without letting it be known it's just one tile.

Anyways, it's not too important, but something worth learning about, maybe. I'm sure you already know though.

user
buloght (Level 6 Centaur) @ 3/1/2007 11:15
Thanks guys :)

Fool: Yeah, I had trouble with those fingers, I felt if you don't look for a hand you won't see it, but if you discover the thumb and then look at the thing as a whole it might become clear, sorta a subtle realization :D

Doppleganer: Haha, thanks :) I don't understand "tile things together" how do you mean? I'm not great at understanding iso

I haven't had an oponent yet, I don't feel like I've been part of it yet, but I am looking forward to round 3 against 9_6, I admire his skills. Grr, animation is something I haven't learned yet.

user
Doppleganger (Level 6 Yonkyu) @ 3/1/2007 10:52
Whoops! Forgot to comment on this. Other than the hand not being readable, as Fool has said, it's top notch work. It'd have been neat to see you try and tile some things together, but it's not anything to complain about. But it seems like you kind of dodged half the challenge. XD

6/6 and fav'd for sure!

user
Fool (Level 6 SWAT) @ 3/1/2007 06:22
Awesome lanscape=) Fingers not too readable though, I wouldnt notice what it is untill read a discription. But the whole thing is looks great - from idea to execution. Congrats on winning another round.=) I'll put another twenty on you for the next one, don't let me down.=))

user
rabidbaboy (Level 4 Shichikyu) @ 3/1/2007 04:43
Oh damn, I love this.
And it's only your second iso.
I think I'm inspired.

user

Thank you for the kind comments all :)

user
Ensellitis (Level 11 Sensei) @ 2/27/2007 12:13
i hate you, i really do...  it wasnt enough for you to conquer the world of pixel art, but now you are going after ISO too?

your new name is Gangis Pixel

superb work btw

user
MashPotato (Level 7 Underboss) @ 2/27/2007 11:45
An incredibly gorgeous scene, I can't stop looking! ;) I like the Dr. Seuss-ish trees, but my favourite part is that cliff, crazy detail!

user
BruceJuice (Level 4 Mercenary) @ 2/27/2007 11:41
Everything on there looks perfect. The only thing missing are some tiles with just nothing in them. That minor complaint aside, this is a very awesome set of iso tiles.

user
sausage (Level 5 Sniper) @ 2/27/2007 08:58

Thats all i can say in its brilliance    [6/6 +Fav]

You are the greatest artist here.

user
jalonso (Level 11 Godfather) @ 2/27/2007 05:13
If not known, one could never guess this is a second attempt at isometric art. Its complex, well colored and exceptional in layout. Amazing stuff.

Great work! And EVERY SINGLE tile is different!
Is the colossus sleeping, or is he just decomposing slower than the dinosaur?5/5

Froli (Level 1 Rookie) @ 2/27/2007 02:34
My favorite entry. Great job <thumbs up>

user
OMGFossil (Level 6 Yonkyu) @ 2/27/2007 01:49
this is what isometric pixel art is supposed to look like

user
Badassbill (Level 11 Big Foot) @ 2/27/2007 01:20
Good use of your palette, and good textures. This is pretty badass. 8/8 + fav.

user
buloght (Level 6 Centaur) @ 2/27/2007 00:45
Thanks guys :).

blick, yes definitely, I went for something busy and detailed, not functional as I said in my description to the judges that I aimed at scene more than mockup.

user
Blick (Level 7 Captain) @ 2/27/2007 00:44
Too cluttered to be functional, but if you had a few more blanker tiles to lower the concentration of detail you have going now, it'd probably be less impressive to look at (omg so much detail in such tiny spaces!) Beings you weren't aiming for something functional, it's perfect.

user
pixelblink (Level 9 Federal Agent) @ 2/26/2007 23:29
this looks awesome! I haven't checked out the thread or the results yet, but I will now that I've seen this. I like how original it seems. Doesn't remind me of any game I've played anyways.
