This is c64 colors, would show on a real c64 with a doublesize pixels hack in afli every other line, but nobody offered to code it in so toss it, I'll just post it here and let it be. It's not a ringwraith, before someone asks. It's from the Cthulhu Mythos.
Because I no longer see the point of doing any of that. I don't even own a c64. I know the limitations, I might as well make art for it independently of the machine.
The glow effect on the robes, and the folds are really well executed! Nice work with the palette, as is usual from you. The fire animation looks odd, the fire tendrils spoil the composition, i'd take them out and leave the (nice) animation effect of the fire ball.
very stunning work with the c64 palette. the flame animation looks great, but somehow I don't like the light changing. I think there's a too big difference from one frame to the next in some areas. looks a bit like just blinking here and there. I don't really know if it's fixable with so few frames/the c64 restrictions, so if you know that it's not possible to do it better just don't mind my critique ;)
I didn't really connect it with anything other than an old man in a raggedy robe before reading the description. Looks great, although there is something about the flame that bothers me.
Your understanding and applying of colours still amazes me Helm. If you zoom in the on his hood it just looks like alot of mixed random colours, but when you zoom out it looks amazing. I just can't start to understanding. Keep creating this beatifull stuff! 7/7 fav
