Ok, I don't know if this counts as color reduction and or NPA. I will show and describe how I made it, so hold yer horses!
First have a look at the WIP
And here is how I did it:
When I got my drawing colored by shades of gray, I took each shade and extracted it to a separate layer in photoshop.
each layer I applyed the noise filter, and then used the threshold image filter and adjusted it to a level that fits the shade. You can see the layers in the animation.
After that I used the pen tool with mode dissolve and dragged opacity to adjust the amount of pixel places, using black or white color to make the details.
Then I changed the colors to make look better.
If the admins thinks it's not suitable for the challenge, please remove it from the challenge, if you think its NPA, please remove it from the site. I don't want to be banned. |
The main problem with this kind of thing is that it sets a terrible example to others and dilutes the effect of classic pixelart. An even worse side effect is that any future pixelart is suspected by default and may not be fair. I say keep experiments and things that are 'iffy' for your personal website properly labeled. Huge kudos on your description being honest and up front :D
