Too far off from Winsor McCay's original style. :[
But hell, the pallete, and the lining is good. (The NES was able to house great graphics in games, just look at "Batman" by Sunsoft, Monster in My Pocket by Konami, or extremely simplistic examples, like "Galaga". :] )
I agree with you, the NES does have an extremely wierd color pallette, as there are 3 or 4, I'm assuming from memory, useless black colors.
