I think it was moreso the way it contrasted against the black background.

I dont actually know, Maybe do realistic brickwork, Or maybe keep it looking smooth Just with a more... subtle colour scheme.

Okay, the colors are unrealistic to what would be in real life, and they contrast alot from the black background making them seem too much like theyre 'In your face.'

I don't get you on the colour part, but i chose the black background because i wanted the white/grey outlines to show.

I seem to think that those colours are somewhat the wrong choice here. Also, I'd advise making the backgrond Transparent.
