This is yet another character from my game project. He's a middling enemy, the skinny guy who throws a knife at you. He probably has some sort of sneaking shoulder tackle or another dashing type of attack. The design is quite obvjously inspired by the comic book and movie undead vigilante, "The Crow", though this guy's just a crazy goth crackhead. Anti-heroes like the Crow are nothing new in the world of comics. They may have had a resurgence in the terrible 90s when any character who was dark, violent and mysterious was an instant success, but characters like The Shadow and The Phantom have existed about as long as guys like Superman or Batman.
Violent revenge against a multitude of amoral foes is definitely par for the course for a beat-em-up, though most of the games never quite featured the level of violence and gore that the Crow series was famous for. Theirs was mostly an asceptized violence, with only the occasional red splash show upon a bullet or knife impact. Villains don't bleed to death, get decapitated or even explode, they usually just politely flash a few times and disappear, sometimes even leaving money behind!
It's basically all the fun of a violent street fight with none of the mess or consequences. Where else but video games?
I'll probably add variations to this character later on. C&C welcome!
