Rawr! You should listen to Solid Pixel. It really helps if you limit yourself to a small colour count.

32 color palette with colours that look almost identical is a shame. The result, well, not only you get a higher color count but it makes this very unappealing.

Finally, to correct the problem I suggest zooming-in one last time, view the colors that look similar, and replace'em with that identical look alike, reducing said color count.

May be shadow should be more dark.
