What can I say... The textures are really awesome (waves, walls...), you're a master 
Look at the details. The land of the gate is a dragon head!!

As I looked at this piece first i saw the castle, After I looked at it longer I saw all the small details. After approximately 20h of looking at it I know that it shows to me the perfect way how a castle should be. It starts with the crocodile head out of rocks and ends with the gray space. I drew castles as I was a small kid and I wish back then I'd have had at least an imaginary picture of it in my mind. For me this is truly the best pixel piece I know of because it touches me on a point which got killed long time ago I thought.

Holy zombie Jesus! Aw... the "wip" link does not work anymore. Well it's been 3 year, so it's understandable.
If there is one thing to dislike about this, it's that I only found out the entrance was a dragon head/claws via the WIP. Really neat idea, but I guess you trashed it(for the most part) when you were doing the raging waves.
Anyway, this is remarkable. You are the best pixel artist I know of!
