I know what are you thinking. you're about to press the 'NO' button rigth? well, at least read this and you'll decide later.
Personally, I'm not really a fan of the self proclamed Fine Art. in fact, I'm not really fond of anything that could call itself art(wich is a big contraption for someone fond of pixelArt :P). lets just say that I'm not the kind of people who can actually admire the beatifulness and huge background in the portrait of an old lady from the 16th century.
but
but I managed to think something for this challenge, as I wanted to give it my personal touch(you're warned: every challenge i join will be an example of creativity ;D).
i wondered what could I do: from Da Vinci's Tank in the Metal Slug style, to Rapa Nui(Eastern Island)'s Moais in their infamous Gradious incarnation, to some sort of round-about postmodern futurism(?) propaganda figther sprite, to a Murasame Sword SHMUP ship. so many ideas, yet so short on time :(.. but then the spark came to my mind: Cave Paintings! yes, while everyone is focused on reworking traditional paintings, why not go far beyond to the origins of what is know as Art?
here's my entry: one of the cave paintings that can be found in the Spanish province of Valltorta Albocàsser
needless to say, everything on this piece was carefully planned, despite its rought and scribbled appearance(that was the idea :P). only two colors used for an extra 'retro' feel.(even when its in a transparent background) |
