All 7 colors are uniques and serve a purpose. This is perfect in that sense.
I dislike color waste more than anyone else but I do believe you use what is needed and here 7 were needed. Even making the green transparent would count as a color. Still 7.

I don't think 7 colors is too much at all, I really love that blue on the hat!   Very cute

It's very hard to tell what it is without looking at the description, and seven colors I think is too much for such a small piece.
