One of three running animations for a character in a game thats on the way. Many Thanks to all the folks at Pixelation who came to the thread http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=6761.0 (especially EvilEye - big ups!) and helped me out with advice, edits, and such. Will post the rest of the run anims as they are ready. 12 frames of animation for slow mo scenes in the game (best viewed at 3/2 delay) but will normally run at 5/6 fps with 6 frames. This is the slo mo and regular versions so you can see all the frames. If you want to see it move at normal speed, download it and run it in your art program of choice. 16 colors plus trans.

I liked the one on the far right in terms of animation. Even ninjas, are incredibly epic, they are still human. Let the guy's head bounce a little. As for art, the one on the far left is the best. However, I would suggest lightening the pixels between the fingers by giving them a more organic color.

I like the open hand much better. I'm actuall a fan of the non-head bob version, as it makes it seem like he's an instensely focused ninja with no intention of loosing track of his target. At all. Great job in my opinion.

I think the ninja looks like he is pulling something really heavy. Like he has a rope tied around his waist and is pulling on a car, or bus. Maybe if the upper body moved up and down alittle bit, maybe one pixel each way, it would look more like he is running.

OK, here's one with head bob in it (on right). I personally don't like it in motion (in the game) but you can see what it looks like. It does look good static however, and I see everyone's point. Note: This new stance came about from EvilEye's input and edits so he gets much props for it.

Yeah the head is too static. Not even a ninja can keep his head in exactly the same place all the time. Even some subtle up and down motion would look good. Right now he looks more like he's supported by the body by some unknown force trying to kick away rather than actually using those feet to propel himself forwards.

Editted arm. looks a lot smoother now. Head is supposed to look straight ahead. I generally dislike head motion in running and walking anims. Go to the thread in the link above. If you scroll down a ways you will see some of the anims have a bob in them. This will be in the game.

Very nice, I love your av one though ;)

It looks weird that the head is not moving a little movement on the head, and the arm seems to jerk on one frame (one holding the sword) I think after polishing that up it will be solid.

Thats sort of the style, I want him to be gangly, and a little insectish. Things will be clarified in the game because he will have several profile/dialogue pictures.

Great work! The hand he is holding infront of his face is a little to big though. I mean, he could grip his whole head with that monster :P
