I think this image is awesome overall. But the stances the two characters are in, are very akward. The female especially..

haven't seen the original game, but this is excellent. my only crit is the size of the health-bar etc -- it makes the screen seem crowded.

I agree with the comments so far, this is an amazing piece. I especially like the background/foreground separation you have here. The far background has a soft, almost painted look which is easy to distinguish from the crisp sprites. Nicely done. :D

Lovely game, lovely pixeling! I dont like Sophitia... her moves are pretty sucky IMO and she is basicly a clone of Cassandra (or the other way around.) I own everyone with Necrid from SC2 or YungSung from any SC.

That's quality!

I'm especially a fan of the background, and especially a fan of the leafy cliffs. The choice of greens you used is quite tasty. To be fair, though, Misturigi is pretty stunning as well.

Sophitia's hair looks a bit messy and her feet are slightly unreadable, but that's all I got for complaints. I surely hope you submit more stuff here. I've always been a fan of your npa.

Wow, all around wonderful piece. I'm not a huge fan of the characters (though well done, especially mit's pants) but I'm absolutely loving all of the scenery. Personally I like the puffy grass stuffs, but bob's crit would make it more realistic. Great job and welcome!

Hah, this looks great. I love the background especially. The ocean blending into the beach and background are wonderful. Clouds look lovely as well. I also love the life meter, looks great. Ship portion looks like a platform straight out of a real 2d beat-em up or fighter, which is a good thing.
However, the green hills/moldy boulders closer to the viewer(mid-ground, I guess) have some strange texture; they almost look like green clouds. Maybe some more speckling or dithering may help give it the mossy type feel. Also, the characters seem too Anime-ish for me, with skinny long bodies, and whatnot.
But all in all, 3d to 2d mock ups should be treated with love and praise, and this is no different. Excellent demake, here.

P.S. you need to submit more artz here...we'll lurve you for it...
