Well, at least they existed...
This piece was intended for an old challenge, but I never managed to finish it (also I'm still not sure whether it meets the rules), so I decided to post it 'cause it looks like it's not gonna be finished any time soon...
Fantastic concept and execution. I like the way the aliens are beveled to look flat and the human figure has a more rounded look. To give the piece even more depth, you could also show the reverse beveling around the outside of the figures, since these heiroglyphs were usually carved into a flat surface; there was usually a little trench all the way around each figure.
