Look up refs for spotlights. Not only can intensity falloff but can interact with smoke etc.

No jeremy you got me wrong. This image needs more work cause it is so confusing. At first i thought it was a small clown tipping a glass. But then i knew it was a rope and light. maybe add more detail to the background to show people who are confused that is is actually light not a glass for example.

@006: I've taken the presentor away, he distracted from the clown and the angle of his spotlight was too symmetrical with the main one. Point taken about the hand, that's fixed. I've left his foot as is, don't forget he's meant to be wearing floppy clown shoes.

I really think you should spend more time on this. Create a background for starters, a little more detail for the presenter. His left hand looks very off, as does his right foot. Like arylic said the light is very flat and distracts from the clown.

The light looks a bit flat try to add some type of texture on it to make a really pop on it.
