I see exactly what you mean, but I'm not, atleast now, yet emotionally ready to go back to this piece, heh. I want to clear my mind off this as it was my first piece and I re-shaded it for ages already. But if I'll ever take this into reconsideration I'll be sure to think your comments through. And don't worry, critisism is welcome here :) (though I'm pretty happy with it for now, as a first piece at least)
what would really help this piece i would say is blended outlines!
and not to be mean but rethink your shading a bit, because it looks like a giant watermelon with gog legs and a head and one of those clown noses for a tail that is just kind of glued on. like i said not trying to be mean; just rethink some of the shading i think it looks like a watermelon because well there is no texture you dither upwards the whole way but even with the wrinkle you just put lines not blended and your shade doesn't take those wrinkles into consideration. so it looks like a watermelon.
also i have complaints agains the palette used, it isn't very eye pleasing. try and use like 1 less color and then use more contrast between the remaining colors.
- Removed two colors
- Shaded
- Made it a tad shorter
- Remade one front paw, and repositioned the other
- Head shape changed a bit
- Redid the hind leg
I'm around halfway through making it better, it got so flat as it's my first piece I'm working on, but don't worry, I'll try to improve it :)!
I already have a much better version, but I'll try to finish it before uploading.
uggh, doesn't need 16 colours for this. the shape shading isn't realistic, try adding the light area over his body so it makes him more rounded.
Thank you!
