Now it looks better.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help, everybody.  It still probably isn't going to win, what with all the absolutely amazing artists and entries I'm competing against.  But I still am glad that I got so much support, and I had much fun making this piece.

I might work on it some more in the future, as there is still room for improvement, but I really need to move on to other works (plus I'm REALLY busy this week).  If there are any jaggies or tiny things that you can spot, please let me know and I will correct that for sure, but other than that, I think I'm done.

Edit: behh, never mind.  I don't really have time to work on it anymore.  Sorry.

Now it really looks better, though the stones are a bit too pillowed. Oh, and I don't like the green you used.

For one of your first pixel-arts it looks pretty good

This looks really nice now that you've worked on it a bit more. Awesome concept + pixeling :)

 Cool! Nice idea : D

purpletree (Level 6 Manager) @ 5/7/2009 02:02

agreed with tripnfelt and stratto, this idea is really creative but if you could expand on it, and make the actual piece better. The idea is the best so far in my opinion!~ (I mean why couldn't i think of that??? :P lol) Kudos for the idea....but you could seriously make those lines better..... :)

tripnfelt (Level 5 Rokkyu) @ 5/6/2009 21:19

It's a good idea, you should still post this in WIP forum now anyway + don't stop working on it for the next 4 days and your skills will improve. Make the clouds bigger, move them away from the sun a bit, try to fill up that empty blue sky more, add texture your grass and earth, tile the houses make your sun more round and try to get away from it being just a solid yellow circle. Have the sunlight hitting the tops of everything not just the tree.

Stratto (Level 5 Killer Klown) @ 5/6/2009 18:07

This is very creative, but i would like to suggest to polish the outlines a bit. They're a bit choppy.

Peach (Level 6 Made) @ 5/6/2009 15:19

you're representing one of those theories that imagine the earth empty inside with an upside-down landscape... interesting enough these are contemporary theories (check out wikipedia if you don't believe me)

Could you elaborate?

Edit: I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but I changed a few things.

smk (Level 6 Hitman) @ 5/6/2009 02:11

Very very nice concept, but it truly needs more love and care.
