some things you don't get to learn in a sex ed class.
the background light-in-the-water rays are fantastic
lol, Vulvatestis. It's great though! Well deserved 1st place!
great choice of colours! and the design is super nice too. :)
The background is SO good! I love the details on everything
1) amazing art work
2) very good writing.
One of the best combo's of art and story telling I've seen here.
the left one....it looks like my scrotum and therefor... good!
good work good sir! excellent dithering but we did not expect anything else from you. possible that i mean the scrotum
- if you flip it, as far as I know it doesn't change meaning, it's just not associated to anything :)
Hey bubu, whats up? Well, if it's no longer associated to anything it's become a meaningless doodad, right? Therefore not only changing, but losing it's meaning. A symbol is a symbol. If you change it, it's no longer the original symbol. Just like an official branding logo needs to stay consistent. You can't just mirror and flip them at will, by george. Though, this is a useless argument; just sayin'. I still applaud Jalonso for all the decisions he made doing this, even the symbol flipping because in context it works just fine.He only needs a reference to Austin Powers now.
love the bg and the concept, cant help but feel a tad uneasy about the possible ref pics :D
"I was unaware that when flipped the male symbol no longer means that :|"
The male symbol is really the symbol of the planet Mars, named after the roman warrior god, who was the lover of Venus, the goddess of love/beauty/allthingsfemale (so the female symbol is really the symbol of planet Venus, it all fits really) - if you flip it, as far as I know it doesn't change meaning, it's just not associated to anything :)
Anyway! This one totally got ma vote!
PS:
Za-zing, first pixel art I change the rating from 5 to 6 after levelling up ;D
Tpoe, they told us draw the creatures he missed out, and he obviously missed out the crabs, because they would die in air, so that is what jalonso done, he basically drew creatures noah missed out...simple :S
Tpoe raises a very fine point! Disqualified, Jalonso.
Did Noah even take any sea creatures? It was a flood wasn't it? Why would he take a crab?
@zi- You and I are cut from the same mold and I understand your comment clearly. We like our pixelart pixelly and tend to see no point in pixelart not being that way. On occasion I like to make something using this more OTT pixelling style just to experiment, practice and learn from.
Thank you all :)
@ Mathias- of course everything is made manually, every single pixel (sloppyness proves it). I was unaware that when flipped the male symbol no longer means that :|
@ Flarfy- corrected ;)
@BAB- really?
Blue ball? Vulvatestis? heh har
The bg rules. I love how you had the discretion to modify the ugly template to better match yer scene. You even modified the male symbol in the preview to fit. Course, you could've just put male on right, and female symbol on left so you didn't have to flip the male symbol, because now, technically, it's not a male symbol anymore. But . . . who cares about that, eh.
Did you manually pixel those light beams and caustics?
Great work. Wonder where you got your inspiration - However I don't like the red shadow in the m/f-symbols. It makes my eyes hurt.
I laughed so hard when I saw the picture and read the description. You got my vote and another first place for sure!
Ah great to see you did finish it in the end :D Really amazing
*Some google images viewed as refs but nothing specific.
This should be a well diversified species!
Beautiful work jalonso.
nice dude i like it and the thing that you said about the male was funny.Nice work on the background dude
5/5
First off, I LOVE the water effect.
Second of all, I'm shocked no one mentioned how subtle yet very blatant the sexual reference is. Kudos. The rest of ya bums, pay more attention in school so you can pick up on these things.
lol how do you guys pump this quality out so quickly?! Great job man.
Wow...your description compliments the artwork perfectly. Well done, sir.
the work is nice ofcource, also like colours and execution, but I see something new in that piece of your pixel art what I dislike, maybe this is just in my brain :)
great work
