Asuka Kazama stance, done in kinda the style of The King of Fighters XII. This time the banding was halfway intentional for tutorial purposes and to ape KOF XII style. Honest. Sorry animation junkies, I have no animation for you today.

Here's hoping I got the transparency right.

 her left knee is weird.

user
chrstman (Level 1 Rookie) @ 4/3/2010 19:00

I kind of agree with crab2selout.png on the legs.
It appears she has no hips, but other than that very nice work man!

Dino502Run (Level 6 Serial Killer) @ 1/10/2010 18:55

Awesome shading.

user
marsonite (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/24/2009 13:04

Light-trail boots. Hmmm...

user
marsonite (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/24/2009 13:02

Nah, it's not very clean. I'll work on it, some. 66 colours was a bit redundant, eh?

user
marsonite (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/24/2009 13:02

Thanks for that.

user
marsonite (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/24/2009 13:00

Oh. Well, it looks like you got 'er now. And for the other stuff, pretty much what Dr D and Helm said. Personally, I use MS Paint.

user
Pixel-Janz (Level 1 Private) @ 6/23/2009 06:59

Can some one tell why do i get error when i try to submit my pixel art?

It goes like this: I choose my picture (Itso over 100x100) and i upload it in the optional ``box``

Then i do the other thing that is needed. Then i click ``submit``, it download  a while and then appears error and the small image box is red? What shoul i do guys???

user
Pixel-Janz (Level 1 Private) @ 6/23/2009 04:47

Thanks Dr D. I`ll do some search. Thanks for sharing ur information!

user
Helm (Level 5 Detective) @ 6/22/2009 17:16

Hey are you sure this is a clean version? Did you save over your steps? I think this suffers from gif dither on save. I opened it up to remove some banding on pro motion and there's scary patterned noises at flat spaces... do check. If not, I can remove the noise for you - and take a stab at making a 24 or 16 color palette of this... you don't need 66 colors... .

Dr D (Level 4 Shichikyu) @ 6/22/2009 15:21

Well since you responded to me, I'll be happy to help.

There are a wide variety of programs you can use. Even the most simplest of programs (MS Paint) are widely used and can wield great results.

The programs I most recommend, and are probably most widely used are:

Cosmigo ProMotion

Graphics Gale

You can use programs such as PhotoShop or GIMP, but you're going to have to configure them properly for pixel art so you don't accidentally use any automatic help.

There are some other older programs as well, such as Deluxe Paint. I don't know much about them though, you're going to have to do some searching around and experimenting to see what works best for you.

Good luck. (I use MS Paint, personally, but I don't really recommend it, as other programs are better once you get used to them.)

crab2selout.png (Level 4 Deputy) @ 6/22/2009 14:49

Really nice, although this reminds me of Street Fighter 3 Alpha than KOF. Also, I almost hate to mention, but I think the masculine legs complaint isn't really because of the legs, but because of the narrow hips compared to the shoulders.

user
Phantom K (Level 4 Button Man) @ 6/22/2009 12:59

whoa, awesome

user
Pixel-Janz (Level 1 Private) @ 6/22/2009 07:01

Very good! By the way... what program u goys use in greating this kind of stuff?

user
Brokencode (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/20/2009 06:50

nice boobs

user
marsonite (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/19/2009 09:20

Great C&C. Me and my infamously muscled legs. And see what I can do about the banding.

user
marsonite (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/18/2009 19:34

Sounds cool!

user
Helm (Level 5 Detective) @ 6/18/2009 10:39

The style is spot on and she is quite attractive too. Great work on the knees. I know where it comes from, but is there a way to do this without the banding, I wonder. If you come over to Pixelation for critique we might find a few tricks.

user
Paulo Peres (Level 6 SWAT) @ 6/18/2009 09:17

Well done!

Congrats for the work details.

I only thing is the leg seems a little masculine for me...

user
Stickman (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 6/18/2009 09:11

Another nice piece. The boots lack a bit of thickness as they seem like it's part of her skin (or more like a tattoo).

Her face is great:)

user
AdamF (Level 11 CEO) @ 6/18/2009 08:25

Gotta agree with TINC here. Banding is bad, but overall nice work.

user
RollerKingdom (Level 7 Mass Murderer) @ 6/18/2009 07:55

Great style ^^ I simply love it..! Keep it up!

user
ramazing (Level 3 Sergeant) @ 6/18/2009 06:07

looks great. i would love to see it animated  ;)

user
Mathias (Level 6 Garbage) @ 6/18/2009 05:53

Wow, nice! You got banding and stray pixels around the arms.

user
abdelhc (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/18/2009 05:13

awesome!!!

user
RA/pdx (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/18/2009 03:58

Really cool work.

The only thing i have to complain with is that the lower part of the body looks too masculine for me.

user
Metaru (Level 8 Brigadier General) @ 6/18/2009 02:47

vastly improved since the last submission. also, suporting bigbrother's sugestion with the trail on the boots~♪

user
asukicco (Level 9 Necrophiliac) @ 6/18/2009 01:52

This is great! My favourite character, like the first part of my nick suggest

user
Satsume (Level 10 Capo) @ 6/18/2009 01:40

asuka :Q__

awesome :Q__

user
big brother (Level 11 Admiral) @ 6/17/2009 23:38

This looks great! I love the attention to detail you meticulously paid to the anatomy of her knees. The boots are the weakest part of the design in my opinion. They will take a lot of extra effort to maintain those details while animating for little visual payback. It would be cool if you blurred the green parts on them during her movements so it looks like they're some high-tech lights. The trail that would leave behind kicks would look awesome!

user
Tyvon (Level 2 Kukyu) @ 6/17/2009 23:34

I FUCKING LOVE YOU. I've been planning on doing this style too.

user
xXHalfieXx (Level 4 Lieutenant) @ 6/17/2009 23:14

Very well done, awesome!

user
The B.O.B. (Level 11 Master Assassin) @ 6/10/2009 13:02

yes, white backgrounds aren't needed...remove the white ground/transparify it, and we'll submit it into the gallery for you...otherwise, sending back for revision

user
monotov (Level 6 Serial Killer) @ 6/10/2009 10:17

Nice legs:p

user
cure (Level 11 Pixellite) @ 6/10/2009 01:16

great work. still haven't solved that banding problem, but it doesn't hurt the overall quality too too much.

user
jalonso (Level 11 Godfather) @ 6/9/2009 21:28

Please remove the BG. Use iaza.com or get Giffy from the FAQ page, thx.

Nice job, btw.

user
marsonite (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/9/2009 17:29

Thanks, man. There are some slight diffrences, but for the most part I was KOF XII all the way.

user
Dr D (Level 4 Shichikyu) @ 6/9/2009 16:29

Looks very KOF XIIish. Nice work.
