Life, light flashing from one point in the darkness to another,  sentience arriving in the flash of a sinaps firing for the first time...

NOTE:  Some nudity as indicated in preview icon!

The "mom" is represented by the grey rock/granite "statue";  the sperm cell is serpentine - hence the patterning.  The concept is extremely cerebral and abstract in the sense that it is exploring an idea rather than a physical object...weird but I had fun!  And yes...I know too many circular dithers - I had fun...did I mention that?

REF:  1. A b&w art photo of nude mother (see my WIP for pic) and 2. A Full colour pic of a foetus - also see my WIP section.

Edit:  Took advice and suggestions on cleaning up lines - did a little of that  - I still SUCK at AA!  and we're not even talking about lines- but here's the cleaners version...thanks to all who helped and guided - good luck to all those who are entering the challenge!  Again some amazing stuff out there!  mwa!

Flat they may be...but they still represent form, shape, colour, texture, etc...they are elements....designed to be appreciated because of their shape and colour and elements....remember the basics!!!!!!!!!!!

Wellllll imo is what it is there for really... your opinion becomes the work of art instead of the final "prodyct"  - glad you could participate!

onek (Level 6 Hitman) @ 7/4/2009 09:08

i think its ... mmm?  ... strange

also it lacks in volumes imo

Celri (Level 4 Ensign) @ 7/4/2009 07:32
yes. But as i said in the description this is a little cerebral and artsy...just enjoy the shapes for what they are :)

susuwataris (Level 6 Yonkyu) @ 7/4/2009 07:08

It's quite hard to understand if you don't see the ref pictures. At least for me.

Celri (Level 4 Ensign) @ 7/4/2009 00:20

Thanks for the advice - I'm getting there slowly but surely

purpletree (Level 6 Manager) @ 7/3/2009 21:29

Celri (Level 4 Ensign) @ 7/3/2009 05:47

Thanks @purpletree - I'll see if there's time

Edit:  Turns out I had 15mins to spare!  Made some lines less jaggedy etc...hope it's a little bitty better now  = )  Thankx for the input!

purpletree (Level 6 Manager) @ 7/3/2009 04:39

hmm. u stil have two days left til the challenge ends, why not head back to the WIP forum and try to make the lines a little bit more less-bumpy and more smoothe, like people mentioned.. it could do with some serious touchups to look better. :P

Celri (Level 4 Ensign) @ 7/2/2009 22:05

Well the "mother" is granite or rock "statue", the sperm cell is very serpentine - hense the patterning and te baby well is the closest to anything realistic in the pic.  Weird ...I know.  The idea sort of grew on it's own....

That's nice :D but hmm is the egg that gray thing? it reminds me of a rock
