Well.. the steps are pretty simple:
1- I created a grayscale colour palette in MSPaint.
2- I chose one of my fave pics of Robert Smith and started copying it using the mouse and free hand tools.
3- I selected different light-shadow areas and painted them with plain colors (always using the grayscale palette I created on step 1).
4- After all the base drawing was filled with plain color areas, I started mixing them with pixels from one color and the other...
And that's it... 
I'm sorry if the explanation was not very clear, but my English is still not that good when it comes to technical language
