@Redshrike, true we should not highjack elk's page but I must say we all expect honesty in the art we see here. There is a huge difference, wether you can tell or not is irrelevant. Why bother cheating when you only cheat yourself.
*sorry elk for the OT :)
Very nice, i'd agree the arms look a bit rushed compared to the head especially, which is just so damn nice. But i dont think he should remove them, itd lose alot of its feel. Nice work once again Elk.
Lol XD
@Jal: If you can't tell the difference, is there one? Sorry, no place for yet another discussion of that...
@topic: I absolutely love the pixelling going on on the face. It's very meticulous and the result is fantastic. I like the flames in the background as well. A few bits seem a bit 'loose' for my tastes, but they don't really detract from the piece as a whole.
I love it.
The personality and the colors are awesome.
Great lighting from the fire and broth, Stunning!
I love the all the details of the face and the way you did the fire, but the pot and arms... not so much. Too unrefined and blobby.
Works for me. :)
Nice piece; love the wrinkles on the forehead.
rushed :)

I'm not accusing him of anything and don't want to start another debochle. I would simply like to see a WIP because I, personally, see elements that look color reduced. Some of the lines are too jaggy and don't really compare to some of Elk's other works.
"There's nothing wrong with color reducing paintings (using promotion tools its easy to get same look)."
Fine, but do not submit to PJ. Leave hybrids of that nature for other sites, galleries and sites.
There's nothing wrong with color reducing paintings (using promotion tools its easy to get same look). Color reducing photos is 'bad' but there is nothing at all to suggest that.
Elk, this looks fantastic I really like the fire. I've got mixed feelings about the arms+hands though.
I can vouch for elk, he showed me a WIP while making this-- it's not color reduced.
Great job, btw.
I'd like to see a WIP, if you have one. There are a few areas (namely the shading on the hat and the arms) look like a color redux, but I can't really say for sure.
I actually quite like the bloom effect Badassbill mentioned. Nice work.
I think the light intesity has been exagurated a little bit too much, and has caused the silhouette to rupture and make the characters depth and proportions hard to read.
That said, the palette is great and the character is full of...character.
Thats awesome, colours and lighting are tops. You got a vote from me.
"One Cook in Hell is Enough to Spoil the Broth"?
Really artistic, love your colors n' style.
Congrats for the win, Elk!
I knew when I saw this it would probably win (sorry to the other competitors!).
It could easily be the cover of some awesome 'death metal' album.
You have crazy skills, Elk. Thanks for the cool pixel and Glückwünsche again!
