Why? I think it looked great. Only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't a good background. Only a gradient.

user
orenshtiv (Level 7 Ichikyu) @ 10/1/2009 12:48

@Peeter - no,just took it down :/

user
Peeter (Level 4 Button Man) @ 10/1/2009 10:02

So what happened to this? You took it down to make some updates / changes?

Wow, that's awesome onek.

Mate, you should seriously spend more time on these works, you're always the first submitting. Take some time and go through the crits you receive, and only after your work is 100% ready post it into the challenge.

"i really hope to win this time", not meaning to crush you or anything, but it (usually) takes much more effort to win pixel art challenges, and it's usually by people who have put their skills to the limits and really put time into their pieces. They're usually the ones that believe that they can win, not just hope that they could win this time. It's a bit hard to explain what I'm getting at here, but somehow that sentence ("i really hope to win this time") churns my insides ;S

Good luck  in the challenge!

oh u already posted it, ^^... so heres my forum comment again

i think theres a lot of room for imrpovement,.... the contrast is way too low, the composition isnt rly balanced, and it lacks of depth, i would remove the font, because it doesnt support the atmospere at all... its the end of human life!! make up some a dramatic scenery... since u already got the desert theme why dont add the sun, casting long shadows for example, like in those western movies, ...maybe u could also add more of those tentacles to add depth and a certain uncannieness... and after 5000 years the construction would have taken more damage aswell i guess...

heres an edit

This is 100% okay for the challenge.

I just said that because some people commented that there would be more than plants in 5000 years. But you can't say that if you don't know when the humans left the earth. When there are humans, they take care of statues and stuff so it won't become like this.

user
orenshtiv (Level 7 Ichikyu) @ 9/29/2009 14:13

umm...i don't know what do you mean but...just one Q...this is ok for the challenge? or i have to do it with humans? :P (i want to make another submission to the challenge if i could...)

user
Peeter (Level 4 Button Man) @ 9/29/2009 14:02

Well, it may be 5000 years after today, but you didn't mention when did the humans die / leave the earth. It could be anywhere between 2009 and 8010, so lets say the year was 8000 when the humans died - there wouldn't be anything much happened.

Though it clearly is earlier than that.

user
orenshtiv (Level 7 Ichikyu) @ 9/29/2009 13:43

oh,now i get it...it's 8010,and we're in 2009,lol,oops,my bad,i think i can just change the description :]

user
Peeter (Level 4 Button Man) @ 9/29/2009 12:55

He didn't actually mention how long is this after humans have left the earth.

It does only say  "5000 years from today"

Jocher (Level 3 Private Eye) @ 9/28/2009 21:49

nice try but, 5000 years? i think after 5000 yaers there is more as just a plant!?

user

After 5000 years, there wouldn't be anything left, but nice idea though.  I agree with Dex, it does seem a bit flat.  And how about more vines and maybe some leaves on them?  Kinda looks like a big snake right now.

user
GormenGhast (Level 5 Detective) @ 9/28/2009 16:09

Really nice! Very pleasing to the eye. :D

user
orenshtiv (Level 7 Ichikyu) @ 9/28/2009 14:22

Thank'x both of you :P
@Dex - nahh,i rather it this way, like a stamp or somethin' [front view]
and i don't think i will have time for it,i can now go back to school... (i was sick :S )

you're a fast worker, nice job

you have the rest of the week- how about working on trying to improve the volumes and the contrast. at the moment everything seems flat.
